PROPOSAL FOR A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
A pedestrian bridge is crossed with a get-down to create a unique public space on the Amstel River in Amsterdam. The iconic “X” shape opens up the bridge to create an in-between space where the waterfront is accessed directly. A temporary barge is used to connect the spaces at water level into a special outdoor event space to be used for concerts, markets, and parties. Serving daily visitor needs, the lower level also includes a café and bicycle repair shop.
